1. The Haunting of Hill House
Netflix’s most recent book adaptation to the small screen, The Haunting of Hill House was written by Shirley Jackson in 1959. The book is widely regarded as one of the best ghost stories of the 20th century and has been hailed as a perfect work of unnerving terror. The Netflix series took many liberties with the characters and plot, but took great care to emulate the novel’s unique use of horror.
If you loved the Netflix show, you won’t be able to put down the book.
